Relax on this lovely tour of New England’s miles of sandy beaches, majestic coasts, and rolling surf. The Islands of New England tour spends eight days exploring New England’s charms, from the cobblestone streets of Nantucket to a dry harvest cranberry bog. Step back in time at Plimoth Plantation to sample traditional recipes from that period, learn some Pilgrim etiquette and enjoy a Thanksgiving feast where you’ll learn to “eat like a Pilgrim.” In Provincetown, you can choose between a whale watching cruise or you can embark on a scenic adventure through the iconic sand dunes of the Cape. Visit Boston and Providence, the Gilded Age mansions of Newport, the lively artist colony of Provincetown, and the beautiful islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

Day 1

Providence, Rhode Island - Tour Begins

Begin your New England experience in Providence, the capital of Rhode Island. We can book the transfer from Boston Airport to Providence for you (extra charge, see below)

Day 2

Providence - Newport - Providence

Start the day with a sightseeing tour of Providence, “America’s Renaissance City.” Then travel to Newport, the “Yachting Capital of the East.” Return to America's Gilded Age as you make your way along breath-taking Ocean Drive en route to Bellevue Avenue, lined with 11 extraordinary mansions. Begun in the 1800s as summer "cottages," 7 of the 11 mansions have been designated National Historic Landmarks. Tour the Marble House, the fabulous summer home of Mr. and Mrs. William Vanderbilt.

Day 3

Providence - Boston, Massachusetts - Providence

This morning leave Providence and travel north to the historic city of Boston. Take a tour that highlights Beacon Hill, the Old South Meeting House, Boston Public Gardens, the historic North End, Old North Church, the U.S.S. Constitution and Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Enjoy some leisure time to stroll along the famed Freedom Trail, a 2.5 mile walking path through the streets of Boston that showcases the city's historical sites or perhaps explore the lively marketplace at Faneuil Hall.

Day 4

Providence - Plymouth - Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Today take a tour of a New England cranberry bog and learn about dry harvesting. Next step back in time in the celebrated town of Plymouth, where the Pilgrims landed in 1620. See legendary Plymouth Rock and board a reproduction of the Mayflower, the 102-passenger ship used by the Pilgrims for the 65-day journey from England. Experience the Pilgrim way of life with a visit to Plimoth Plantation, a re-creation of a 17th-century village. Today’s lunch teaches you how to “eat like a Pilgrim.” Sample recipes from that time, learn some Pilgrim etiquette, and enjoy a Thanksgiving feast with your fellow travellers. Later, arrive at your beachfront hotel for a relaxing four-night stay.

Day 5

Cape Cod - Martha's Vineyard - Cape Cod

Take a ferry ride to the island of Martha's Vineyard, infamous as a holiday destination for Royalty and Hollywood. A local guide will show you all the highlights, quaint ginger-bread styled cottages and an old whaling port with sea captain's homes and widows walks. You'll then cruise back to Cape Cod for an evening of seafood and lobster.

Day 6


Cape Cod - Provincetown - Cape Cod

Today travel to Provincetown on the very tip of the Cape. This lively artist colony is famous for it's arts & crafts. Here you can choose to go on a whale watching cruise or perhaps take a scenic adventure through the iconic sand dunes of the Cape. Tonight you will explore downtown Falmouth, enjoying the shopping and dining opportunities.

Day 7

Cape Cod - Hyannis - Cape Cod

Visit Hyannisport, home of the Kennedy Compound and visit the poignant Kennedy Memorial. Then take a high-speed ferry to the island of Nantucket. Enjoy its cobblestone Main Street, beaches and lighthouses. Explore the waterfront to view the sailboats and yachts, and shop for a traditional Nantucket basket. Tonight you will learn to cook like a New Englander during a chef-led cooking demo before sitting down to your Farewell Dinner.

Day 8

Cape Cod - Tour Ends

Your tour comes to a close, and take your included transfer to Boston airport for your overnight return flight
