Day 1

Fly to Portland

Arrive in Portland Oregon and transfer independently to your hotel for the night. We have built in just one night in Portland at the airport on this itinerary but it’s a lovely city to spend a couple of days, so just let us know if you’d like to book a city hotel for a few nights. Enjoy tax-free shopping, craft beer (there are more breweries in any other city in the world!), artisanal coffee, ice-cream and donut shops, plus beautiful gardens to enjoy a stroll including the world famous Japanese Garden.

Day 2

Portland – Willamette Valley (34 miles)

Either transfer independently to the Cruise America depot, which is just a few minutes from a MAX Light Rail Station with direct access to Downtown and the Airport. Or you can book the Early Bird Special which includes a transfer from airport hotels.

Head out to the Willamette Valley – a beautiful region filled with 700 wineries and countless farms growing anything from vegetables to Christmas trees. The suggested campsite is the Olde Stone Village which is located next to the fascinating Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum and just outside the town of McMinnville where you will find great restaurants and several wine-tasting rooms.

Day 3

Willamette Valley – Lincoln City – Newport (82 miles)

Today you will head to the beautiful Oregon Coast, and be sure to stop at charming Lincoln City and beautiful Depoe Bay which has the smallest navigable harbour in the world. You will also find here several charter fishing and whale-watching companies to book a trip with. Onwards to Newport and its lovely Historic Bay Front for you to browse the shops and enjoy a coffee or a meal. Then it’s just a short drive your overnight stop at South Beach State Park.

Day 4

South Beach State Park – Bullards Beach State Park (117 miles)

This morning continue along beautiful Highway 101 to Heceta Head State Park where a short trail leas to the historic lighthouse and a spectacular view of the coast. Enjoy lunch in the delightful town of Florence with its restored historic district. Adrenalin junkies can take a ride on the sand dunes in an ATV! Another suggested stop along the way is Shore Acres State Park and you might spot Grey Whales as you head down the coast. Tonight you can stay in Bullards Beach State Park just by the town of Bandon.

Day 5

Bullards Beach State Park – Grants Pass (135 miles)

Journey east, travelling inland to the quintessential river town of Grants Pass – known as the white-water rafting capital. But don’t worry, there’s more besides white-water rafting! It really is a lovely place to hike along the banks of the Rogue River, take a sedate float trip down the Rogue River or perhaps wine-tasting is your more scene – if so you have a massive choice of wineries and top rated restaurants to enjoy! Overnight at the River Park RV Resort in Grants Pass.

Day 6

Grants Pass – Crater Lake National Park (59 miles)

Today will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your holiday when you travel to Crater Lake National Park. Surrounded by sheer cliffs up to 2000 feet high, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the USA and the 7th deepest in the world. Drive around the 33 mile rim route for spectacular views and photo opportunities. Overnight at the Crater Lake RV campsite.

Day 7

Crater Lake – Bend (135 miles)

Travel north to the beautiful city of Bend bordered by the Deschutes National Forest and the Cascade Mountains, and boasting 300 days of sunshine a year. This is a truly beautiful region, and suggest you take time to visit Smith Rock State Park and Newberry National Volcanic Monument and Lava Lands – a massive, starkly beautiful expanse of crimson and black lava fields dotted with lakes. Suggested overnight campsite is at nearby Tumalo State Park.

Day 8

Bend – Baker City (230 miles)

It’s worth an early start to give you time at Painted Hills – the most picturesque section of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. Also worth a stop is the small pioneer town of Mitchell, situated in a rugged canyon with remarkable rock formations. Continue to Baker City where you will step back in time as there are more than 100 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Overnight at Mt View RV campsite.

Day 9

Baker City – Joseph (114 miles)

Drive to the lovely Wallowa State Park where you can rent small motorboats, kayaks and paddleboards. You could also take the Wallowa Lake Tramway up 8,000 feet to the peak of Mount Howard. Overnight at the Wallowa Lake State Park RV campsite.

Day 10

Jospeph – Memaloose State Park (258 miles)

It’s the longest drive today but you will pass through some beautifully changing landscapes, from cowboy country into dramatic river gorges. First you’ll pass through La Grande, the ancestral home of the Nez Perce tribe and Pendleton famous for its rodeos. You’ll see the scenery change from dry rugged terrain to the Columbia River Gorge – a 70-mile canyon carved by glaciers. Overnight at Memaloose State Park.

Day 11

Memaloose State Park – Portland (68 miles)
