We love this holiday combining the two great American cities – New York and Washington DC. You’ll fly direct to New York, arriving into the heart of Manhattan for a couple of days exploring the sights, enjoying the restaurants and indulging in shopping. Then take the train from Penn Station southbound to Washington to enjoy a couple of days in this wonderful city. With an abundance of fascinating museums and memorials, pretty parks and contrasting neighbourhoods.

We’ve selected some hotels for you shown in the itinerary below, which are well located, good quality and great value for money, but we can change these if you’d like to upgrade to something more luxurious or change to a different location. (TM)

Days 1 - 3

New York

Fly to New York for three nights. The Big Apple needs no introduction. As well as being a paradise for shopaholics, there are iconic sights, fascinating galleries & museums, fun boat trips and of course lively nightspots and renowned resrtaurants to enjoy. We suggest you stay in the well located Stewart Hotel, perfect as a base to explore the city, but we can tailormake this holiday with another hotel such as the charming and traditional Fitzpatrick Grand Central or the funky Ganesvoort Meatpacking hotel near the High Line or the super luxurious St Regis New York.

Days 4 - 5

Washington D.C

On day three, take the train from Penn Station to Union Station. If you'd prefer you can fly, but the advantage of the train is that it's city centre to city centre and only takes around three hours.

You'll have plenty of exploring to do in this fabulous city. from iconic sights and enthralling museums - our favourite is the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, which is free of charge, so you can either just run in to see some highlights or spend all day browsing the fascinating exhibits. Stroll Constitution Gardens from the soaring Washington Monument along the Reflecting Pool to the impressive Lincoln Memorial. Our recommendation for your hotel is the George Kimpton, where you will find well-designed guestrooms and a lovely bar & restaurant to relax in, plus the very popular hosted wine hour each evening. Or you could upgrade to the beautiful Jefferson Hotel, built in 1923 in the Beaux Arts design, it has just 99 guestrooms so you can be assured of a first class service.

Day 6

Make your way to the airport to fly home.
