Set on the headlands above the Golden Gate, The Legion of Honour is San Francisco’s most beautiful museum and is a truly unique and majestic setting for your wedding. Featuring an impressive collection of four thousand years of ancient and European art in an unforgettable setting overlooking the magnificent bridge, this is a gorgeous museum built in Grecian Style.

Your ceremony will be set in the beautiful, romantic gardens outside the museum with a stunning background of the Marin Hills and, of course, the famous Golden Gate Bridge – a truly memorable and unique setting for a dreamy wedding celebration. A Classic Wedding features a personalised written ceremony, wedding coordinator, bridal bouquet, groom’s buttonhole and return transfers for the couple. We recommend our Premier Wedding option for those looking to delight in a celebration after the ceremony with champagne, wedding cake and a professional photographer to create a truly memorable occasion.

Please Note: Couples cannot get married inside the museum building, but in the beautiful gardens outside.

Your wedding can be just the way you like it, from your choice of the kind of ceremony to your choice of any of the stunning iconic locations and venues.  There is no minimum residency period in San Francisco.  Renewal of vows and commitment ceremonies are also available.

The Legion of Honor, San Francisco's most beautiful museum, displays an impressive collection of 4,000 years of ancient and European art in an unforgettable setting overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. A gorgeous museum, built Grecian -style, with Rodin’s ‘Thinker’ gracing the open area.  Ceremonies there have a background of the Marin Hills and of course the famous Golden Gate Bridge.

Minimum residency period prior to marriage:  1 day

Minimum age : 18

Suggested stay in San Francisco   : 5 nights

Weddings take place : Monday – Sunday (subject to availability)

Documents Required:

  • Valid original 10-year UK passport which expires more than 6 months after the date of your return to the UK.

If Required

  • If you have been divorced, the original of your decree absolute.

Before you travel:

We do not require any documents to be sent in advance.

When you get there:

Kate Talbot, (a Brit, by the way) is your wedding coordinator in San Francisco and will guide you every step of the way, before you leave and when you get there.  Kate knows the city intimately and will help you choose a location that is exactly what you want, she can also help with any other special services or needs you have.
