Rebecca & Jonathan share their Orlando Holiday Story

Rebecca & Jonathan travelled to Orlando and stayed at Wyndham Orlando Resort. Here's what they had to say:

magic kindom passes

I had always dreamed of travelling to Orlando to experience all the parks – especially when the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was built at Universal Studios. So one day I decided to just go ahead and book it…and it completely exceeded my expectations.

It was amazing to see all the parks, but just as cool to experience the lifestyle of America and try all the famous food haunts like IHOP. We really loved the heat and the friendly culture, as well as how nice everyone was and how welcome we felt. We spent a day at the Kennedy Space Centre which was incredible, it was well worth the money. Our tour guide on the bus and in the centre was fantastic, and it was amazing to see the Atlantic Space Shuttle and Apollo 11.

The hotel we stayed at was friendly and clean and everyone was so helpful – we really want to thank the helpful and chatty reception and restaurant staff. The hotel was so close to all the parks too – we’d definitely recommend staying on International Drive, and you won’t need a car unless you want to explore further. Our favourite restaurant of the holiday was Olive Garden – also located on International Drive, it had great staff, lots of choice on the menu, and delicious food.

magic kingdom

No matter how old you are, Magic Kingdom is a real wow moment. We also loved the Harry Potter world at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure – I’m a huge fan and it was spot on! We had everything planned to ensure we got to do everything we wanted - I checked which parks we had access to and researched each of them to work out what our priorities would be, aiming to do the bigger rides first and then work our way round the smaller ones and the shops afterwards. We then researched what there was to do around the area, including my dad’s recommendation of Cape Kennedy, and planned out each day and how long each park would take. Working out where we were each day and what we would be doing really took away some of the stress and ensured we saw and did everything we wanted to.

We would definitely recommend getting an ultimate ticket – it gave us access to 11 parks, including all of the major ones. We’d also tell others to look into which parks you’d like to see before buying tickets – there are so many different packages, you’ll need to find the one most suited to you. We found getting to the big rides early was best as they get busy pretty quickly! And getting to the park for opening time is always a good idea.

harry potter world

My favourite ride was the Forbidden Journey ride in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – it was unbelievable and so well done. Even my boyfriend, who isn’t as big a fan as I am, was amazed by it. In fact the whole Harry Potter experience was just great!

We would do the whole holiday again in a heartbeat and we’d really recommend people booking with American Sky - everything was hassle free and handled really well.

We would like to thank Rebecca & Jonathan for sharing their story with us and hope to welcome you on another holiday soon..
