You won’t need a car, so you can relax and enjoy the sunshine and starlight.

Choose from outdoor pursuits like golf and hiking or more urban pastimes such as eating, drinking and shopping. This is a tailor-made itinerary so we can change the hotels, the amount of time you spend in each place or perhaps add another destination California location such as San Diego or San Francisco. Days 1 to 4

Los Angeles

You have three full days to discover this exciting city. We suggest you get your bearings on your first morning with a hop-on hop-off bus tour, so you can see the main sites and decide where you want to spend more time. No visit to LA is complete without a studio tour, so head over to Warner Bros, and don’t forget to take a stroll down the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

You could hop on the Metro and travel out to the fun seaside city of Santa Monica, to enjoy time on the beach or walking the pier to the end of Route 66 or onto Venice Beach.

You might want to spend the best part of a day on Museum Row, made up of four museums on the Miracle Mile – here you will find the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Crafts and Folk Art Museum, the Petersen Automotive Museum and the A + D Architecture and Design Museum.

Days 5 to 8

Palm Springs

This morning take a short flight from Los Angeles to Palm Springs and be in the desert within the hour. Alternatively, hire a car and witness mountain vistas and desert palm trees, the journey taking only a couple of hours.

You can check out favourite things to do in Palm Springs here, which include taking a ride on the world’s largest rotating tramcar – the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Ascend to the Mountain Station located at over 8,500 feet, where you can take in the awe-inspiring views of the Coachella Valley and enjoy 50 miles of easy hiking trails.

Of all the myriad dining options on offer, be sure to choose at least one with a gorgeous view such as at 4 Saints at the Kimpton Rowan hotel taking in views spanning from downtown to sweeping desert and mountain vistas beyond. After indulging in some retail therapy along the lovely El Paseo boulevard, there are many lovely restaurants where you can re-charge and refuel such as Tommy Bahama’s, or enjoy people watching on Palm Canyon Drive whilst enjoying the fayre at Wilma and Frieda’s.

After three nights in Palm Springs, head to the airport for your flight home or onwards to another great California city.
