Day 1 & 2 Arrival in Seattle

Touch down in Seattle, one of America’s great cities. It is located in the northwest of America sitting on the shore on the shore of the Pacific Ocean with a wonderful backdrop of the Cascade Mountains. Your first day is an opportunity to tour the city, taking in the pretty waterfront or enjoying the view from the observation deck of the famous Space Needle.

One the second day, enjoy a quiet morning with breakfast at a local restaurant, and then you can spend the rest of the day visiting the shops. The evening offers time for relaxation.

Day 3 Seattle - Port Angeles / Olympic NP (137 miles/221 km)

Today you’ll drive to Port Angeles, passing through the Olympic Peninsula along the way. The Olympic Peninsula is a beautiful area of wilderness with varied vistas from snow-topped mountains to the verdant shoreline. This is your chance to explore one of the largest rainforests in North America. You’ll then continue driving on to Port Angeles – a modern town boasting plenty of culture and history.

Day 4 Port Angeles - Astoria (212 miles/342 km)

Today is your chance to visit Lake Quinault, located at the scenic heart of the Olympic National Forest. Spend your time enjoying the wilderness and tranquillity, before you travel on to Astoria. On this journey you’ll pass some beautiful sandy beaches and enjoy a short detour to visit an ancient Indian village. You also have the opportunity for a detour to visit Long Beach Peninsula and seek out the longest stretch of uninterrupted sandy coastline in the west of America.

Day 5 Astoria - Newport / Coos Bay (240 miles/385 km)

Today you’ll drive down the Oregon coast passing a number of sleepy beach towns, long stretches of sand, fantastic rocky scenery, sea stacks and more than 20 state parks. Take this opportunity to visit Sea Lion Cave, which is filled with hundreds of sea lions – a really lovely sight. You can also visit the Oregon Dunes National Recreation area and tour the Tillamook factory, which produces more than 18 million kilos of cheese every year.

Day 6 New Port / Coos Bay - Crater Lake NP (250 miles/400 km)

On the sixth day you’ll take a drive inland to visit the Crater Lake National Park. It contains the deepest lake in the whole of the United States. Drive around the edge and enjoy the superb views on offer.

Day 7 Crater Lake NP - Bend (245 miles/395 km)

Today you can visit the Lava Lands and the Newberry National Volcanic Monument en route to the city of Bend.

Day 8 & 9 Bend - Portland (220 miles/352 km)

On the eighth day you’ll begin your journey to Portland. On the way you’ll visit Warm Springs Indian Reservation, the Columbia River Gorge and the Mount Hood and Hood River. When you arrive in Portland you’ll have the rest of the day to enjoy the city.

The ninth day is your real opportunity to explore Portland, one of America’s hidden gem cities. Wander through the downtown area and get to know the different neighbourhoods before returning for a relaxed evening at your hotel.

Day 10 Portland - Yakima (190 mi/306 km)

Head out to the wineries of Yakima Valley – a truly special part of the tour, especially if you are a wine-lover. This lovely temperate region is in the same latitude as the great wine-producing regions of France, making it the perfect place for stunning vineyards to thrive. Chat to the producers themselves, and they’ll be happy to recommend you the best wines and explain the wine-making process.

Day 11 Yakima - Wenatchee (110 miles/177 km)

Today’s travel gives you two options. You can enjoy a relaxed morning at Mount Rainier before heading to Wenatchee, or you can choose to travel directly from Yakima and pass the U.S. Military Reserve Firing Centre. You’ll then pass through the Wenatchee National Forest to get to Wenatchee.

Day 12 Wenatchee - Seattle (150 miles/242 km)

In the morning you can visit the little town of Cashmere, which has a number of historic building to enjoy. Then move on to Leavenworth for a scenic stop before you travel on to Seattle where you trip comes to an end.

Day 13 Depart Seattle

Depart at leisure to Seattle International Airport for your return flight
