Encounter Nashville and New Orleans

6 nights from £1,449 per person Including Flights

Overview

A holiday combining two of America’s most fun and fascinating cities – Nashville and New Orleans. Fly into Nashville, one of the most exciting music cities in the world, with its roots in country music and contemporary influences. Enjoy a few days, and nights, exploring the studios, museums, attractions and live music venues. Then fly down to New Orleans where you will find more music, this time with jazz as its centre. Here there is also delicious cuisine to be sampled, historic streets to be strolled and you could perhaps venture into the supernatural with a Ghosts & Spirits Walking Tour. This itinerary is just a suggestion – if you would like more or less time in either city, or perhaps add another music city such as Memphis or Chicago – then we’ll tailor-make the holiday to suit you. Day 1

Arrive Nashville

Fly into Nashville – the Country Music Capital of the World. Transfer independently to your chosen hotel. Head straight out to Broadway to see the bright lights and soak up the atmosphere!

Day 2 - 3

Nashville

We think two days is just enough time to see the highlights of Nashville, but if you can spare more then there are plenty of attractions to keep you happy for a week or more. We can tailormake the length of time you spend in each city to suit you. A great place to start in Nashville is the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. You will be absorbed by the state-of-the-art exhibits, interactive displays and will enjoy hearing audio snippets from classic and contemporary country stars. Another must-see is the Historic RCA Studio B. We can book a Nashville Music Attraction Pass for you to give access to all the great places. Evenings in Nashville are best spent in one of the many live-music venues, and don’t forget to try out some delicious Tennessee barbeque pulled pork and saucy ribs.

Day 4

New Orleans

This morning you will catch a flight south to New Orleans, one of our favourite American cities. Transfer independently to your chosen hotel. You can either stay in the heart of the action within the French Quarter, or there are some great value options just outside this neighbourhood. If you’re a foodie, there are some amazing restaurants to try out in New Orleans, the delicious local cuisine with French and Creole influences. One of our favourites for old world charm is Arnuads (be sure to get there in time for an aperitif cocktail in their French 75 Bar). And you shouldn’t miss brunch with live jazz in the ever popular Muriel’s on Jackson Square.

Days 5 - 6

New Orleans

You could spend all of your time in New Orleans trying out different live music venues, cafes and bars – whilst this city is famous for its jazz scene, there’s a great variety of different venues and different music. But it would be a shame if you didn’t take time to stroll the charming streets, pause in atmospheric Jackson Square and admire the quirky, historic architecture. You can take a horse-drawn tour to get your bearings. And how about a Cemetery and Voodoo Walking Tour? We can book any number of experiences and activities for you, including an airboat swamp tour or an excursion out to one of the beautiful plantation houses. You could also take a cruise along the Mississippi on a traditional paddle steamer.

Day 7

Today it’s time to head home…unless you want to extend your holiday with a stay in another exciting city such as Chicago or New York.
