Day 1

Arrival in Las Vegas

Welcome to Las Vegas! Transfer independently to your hotel and settle in. This evening meet your Tour Director and your travelling companions for a Welcome Reception at the hotel.

Overnight: The LINQ Hotel or similar. Welcome reception dinner included

Day 2

Las Vegas – Death Valley National Park – Mammoth Lakes

Discover North America’s lowest, hottest and driest point – Death Valley National Park – the largest National Park in the contiguous United States. Learn about the valley’s unique geological features and admire the sweeping views of desert gorges, striking peaks and miles of sand dunes. See if you can spot lizard, bighorn sheep or wild burros. After lunch you will travel 282 feet below sea level at the Badwater Basin – the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere. Marvel at the Devil’s Golf Course where “only the devil could play golf on such rough links”. Then take in the scenic views at Zabriskie Point over the inferno that is Death Valley.

Day 3

Mammoth Lakes and Yosemite National Park

Enjoy a full day in California’s premier mountain resort – Mammoth Lakes. The Sierra Nevada offers some of the most spectacular scenery in the world and Mammoth Lakes is at the very heart of this. Ride up the Scenic Gondola to the top of Mammoth Mountain, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Later you'll drive over the Tioga Pass (seasonal) and past Tenaya Lake and Tuolumne Meadows to the natural wonders of Yosemite National Park.

Overnight: Yosemite Valley Lodge or similar. Breakfast included

Day 4

Yosemite National Park

Led by a Park Ranger and local specialist, you’ll get to see all of the valley highlights as you learn about the natural history, indigenous peoples, the first non-indigenous settlers, the flora and the fauna of the park. After the tour, you can explore Yosemite Valley’s El Capitan, Cathedral Rocks, and Bridalveil Fall. The rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure where in Yosemite the possibilities are endless.

Day 5

Yosemite National Park – Kings Canyon & Sequoia National Parks

This morning you will discover the natural wonders of Kings Canyon. Enjoy a birds-eye-view on the Canyon, before continuing your winding journey through the groves of majestic sequoia, for your two night stay in Seqoia National Park. After dinner immerse yourself in a star-gazing programme as a local specialist guides you through the night sky contellations.

Day 6

Sequoia National Park

Explore the “Land of Giants”, the stunning redwood trees of the Sequoia National Park, with a stroll along the General Sherman Tree Loop trail. This ends at the base of the General Sherman tree – the worlds largest living thing, estimated to be over 2,200 years old. Learn about the history and ecology of the sequoias at the Giant Forest Museum. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. You will have the opportunity to walk the Big Trees Trail or use the complimentary shuttle system to explore the park on your own. And you can climb up Moro Rock, a massive granite formation in the centre of the park.

Day 7

Sequoia National Parks - Los Angeles

Head down the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains and Los Padres National Forest as you journey to the "City of Angles". On arrival in los Angeles, join a guided walking tour led by a local specialist and visit famous icons such as the Hollywood Sign, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Your final evening is hosted by your Tour Director with a Farewell Dinner as you reminise your encouner of California's natural beauty.

Overnight: Beverly Hills Marriott or similar. Breakfast and dinner included

Day 8

Depart Los Angeles

Today you can either transfer independently to the airport and fly home or extend your stay to enjoy a few more days in LA.
