Day 2

Your tour begins in Jackson - a charming Western town in Wyoming surrounded by rolling plains and soaring mountain ranges. You’ll have the day free to explore before the welcome evening at 6pm, where you’ll meet your tour leader and other travellers. There are plenty of museums and galleries to wander through, as well as the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar full of Western memorabilia – or if you fancy seeing the town’s natural beauty, head on an aerial tram to the top of Rendezvous Mountain for an additional price.

Hotel included, meals paid locally.

Day 3

On day three you’ll travel to Grand Teton National Park to discover the park’s striking mountain scenery, crystal clear lakes and alpine forest. Look out for wildlife in their natural habitat, including deer, marmots, otters, black bears and bison. You’ll have the opportunity to hike the Teton Mountain Range from the edge of beautiful Jenny Lake (boat ride at an additional cost), and meander up to the 200ft tall Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. After taking in the views, there’s the option to continue to Cascade Canyon to spot magnificent moose grazing amongst the luscious plains, or take advantage of an optional white-water rafting excursion along the wild Snake River (additional charge). Afterwards you will return to Jackson.

Hotel included, meals paid locally.

Day 4

Today is 21st August 2017 - the day of the Total Solar Eclipse. You’ll wake early to get to the best vantage point around the Jackson area, and a private vehicle will be on hand to transfer you to the centre line of the eclipse track if possible. Due to weather changes, the itinerary on day three is subject to change in order to get you to the best viewing point. After the natural phenomenon you’ll be free to enjoy a hike through Jackson’s gorgeous landscape. Stroll along the Hermitage Point Trail near Colter Bay for 10 miles, passing Heron Pond and Swan Lake, with the Teton Range as your extraordinary backdrop.

Hotel included, meals paid locally.

Day 5-6

In the morning you’ll arrive at a rustic guest ranch, with self-contained accommodation and a friendly atmosphere. Once you’ve settled into your cabin, you’ll be taken on a peaceful horseback ride through breath-taking mountain scenery, with unforgettable sights of the Teton Range and the lush alpine forests and crystal clear lakes that surround it.

Guest ranch stay included, welcome dinner included, other meals paid locally.

Day 7

You’ll start your day travelling to the alluring Yellowstone National Park, the first designated National Park in the world, and home to the largest collection of geysers. This fascinating park has an abundance of wildlife and geological wonders to witness. You’ll be driven to the Mammoth Hot Springs area for a guided walk along the Beaver Ponds Trail, which winds its way to the thermally active Norris Geyser Basin – this area is colourful, captivating, and will make you feel like you’re walking on the moon.

Hotel included, meals paid locally.

Day 8

There are many hiking options available for today. For spectacular views, travel along the South Rim Trail from Uncle Tom’s Point to Artist Point to pass cascading waterfalls and the incredible Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. The trail starts with 328 steps, but it’s certainly worth it for the views.

Hotel included, meals paid locally.

Day 9

Seeing Old Faithful erupt will be one of the highlights of today – an impressive geyser that became one of the main reasons the park was established in 1872. Afterwards, follow the boardwalk around the striking geothermal areas and learn more about the park’s history. In the afternoon your tour leader will drive you to a few spots off the beaten track, including Lamar Valley; a picturesque area full of wildlife, and Hayden Valley, where you may get to see bison and wolves.

Hotel included, meals paid locally.
