Maui, often referred to as the ‘Magic Isle’ is the place where fantasies of the perfect destination wedding come true. Less populated and more secluded than Oahu, Maui offers a varied range of activities and adventures. Maui is Hawaii’s second largest island, encompassing an area of 729 square miles (1,888 square kilometers). It boasts a diverse terrain that ranges from black sandy beaches and rugged coastline to lush tropical forests, cascading waterfalls and white sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. This landscape, and the waters that surround it, make for an exotic island paradise, the perfect backdrop for your dream wedding.
Po’olenalena Beach
It’s rare to find an unoccupied beach in south Maui, but that’s just what is likely to happen when uou visit Po’olenalena (also known as Paipu Beach, Pepeiaolepo Beach, Love Beach, Keauhou Beach or Makena Surf Beach). Po’olenalena is excellent for swimming since its sandy shores slope gently into the water.
This Secluded South Maui beach is perfect for intimate weddings and vow renewals. This beach is not the Makena Cove that is easy to find and very crowded. This secret cove is unknown even by many locals who have lived here all their lives. Poolenalena beach has a secluded side to it that features a long stretch of white sand beach, two coves formed by black lava rock, lush green foliage, palm trees and driftwood logs. Unlike the west side of the island (Lahaina, Kapalua and Kaanapali) this beach has a awesome vantage point for sunsets all year long.
