Stroll down the famous Las Vegas Strip before heading out through desert landscapes and along legendary Route 66 to discover the heart of western USA. There'll be stops at the extraordinary landscapes of the Grand Canyon and Lake Powell along with Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks on this unforgettable American journey.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Las Vegas

Arrive in Las Vegas for a two-night stay. Transfer to your hotel and meet your Tour Director. Later join your fellow travellers at an early evening Welcome Reception.

Day 2 - Las Vegas

The day is yours to enjoy Las Vegas independently. You could take a stroll down the famous Strip to see the extraordinary theme hotels, take in a Broadway-quality show, tee off at one of the dozens of first-rate local golf courses or simply soak up some sun by the pool. Of course you could try your hand at the casinos too, and sample some fine cuisine at one of the city's renowned restaurants.

Day 3 - Las Vegas - Montezuma Castle National Monument - Sedona

Leave Las Vegas to join stretches of the legendary Route 66 towards central Arizona's desert landscape. Make a stop at Montezuma Castle National Monument and continue through red-rock scenery to Sedona, a quaint town with a blend of Native American, western and New Age influences.

Day 4 - Sedona - Grand Canyon National Park

Sedona has plenty of interesting art galleries and speciality shops to browse through this morning, and you could also join an optional 4WD adventure into the surrounding countryside. The tour will then make its way up through Oak Creek Canyon, with views stretching back across Sedona and the surrounding Red Rock Country. You'll then reach Kaibab Plateau, with its pine forests, as you approach the Grand Canyon National Park. Your hotel will be on the South Rim, where you will find some of the most spectacular views of this remarkable natural wonder. Join your Tour Director for a wander along the rim as the sun sets dramatically on the canyon.

Day 5 - Grand Canyon - Navajo Country - Lake Powell

Rise early to appreciate the morning light as it plays on the canyon's walls. There is also the chance to take an optional flight across the Grand Canyon for some unforgettable views. Leaving the canyon behind you will travel into Navajo lands to stop at an old Native American trading post and then head across the Painted Desert to Lake Powell, the Colorado River and Glen Canyon Dam. The deep blue Lake Powell is crenellated by hundreds of coves and gullys and you can take an optional cruise on the lake.

Day 6 - Lake Powell - Bryce Canyon National Park - Zion National Park

From Lake Powell you will drive to more incredible scenery, taking in Bryce Canyon National Park, with its sandstone 'hoodoo' spires viewed from the rim of the canyon's natural amphitheatre. Continue on through the Checkerboard Mesa to Zion National Park to see more amazing eroded sandstone landscape. You will stay in your Zion hotel for two nights.

Day 7 - Zion National Park

Spend the day exploring Zion National Park, one of the most unique natural areas in America. The visitor centre tells you about the area's formation and you can hop on the Zion Canyon Shuttle to tour this red-rock canyon landscape. The afternoon is yours to wander the park's network of hiking trails. Join your travelling companions this evening at the Farewell Dinner on the last night of your tour.

Day 8 - Zion - Las Vegas

Drive on through St George, site of the first Mormon temple in Utah, and continue along the Virgin River Gorge to arrive in the Mojave Desert as we approach our final destination - Las Vegas. Transfer to the airport or to a city hotel for those wishing to extend their stay.
