Shopping and sunshine USA

Think of Florida and think of Walt Disney World theme parks and family holidays…but think again. A long weekend in South Beach Miami can give you fantastic winter sunshine on a super sandy beach, some really classy hotels, unbelievable shopping – nearly $2 to the £- and some thrilling nightlife.
So a typical day could be take breakfast at one of the roadside cafes and bars on Street. You can watch the joggers dog walkers and rollerskaters come by.. Then catch some rays on the beach before going off in your hire car to one of the nearby shopping malls. You will find unbelievable value in the January sales. I am going to buy a lawn mower and kettle barbecue at Sears.
Come back to your hotel for early evening cocktails. There are some fabulous bars in the Hotel Delano – which always reminds me of a Luxor Temple.
After dinner try on of the red hot bars on the South Beach strip. If you are a really good dancer get up on the bar top and strut your stuff – you have to be good or they will boo you off.

And for an ultimate treat why not go business class on Virgin and try out their new beds and also sample their fabulous lounges at Heathrow and in Miami.

Miami is not the only US city with excellent shopping, sunshine and good hotels – New York, San Francisco, Orlando and Los Angeles are other great cities across the whole Continent!
