This spectacular tour examines the top destinations and attractions on the eastern side of the U.S., with stops at New York, Washington, Montreal, Boston and Niagara Falls - to name but a few! Along the way you will take part in historical tours, boat trips and guided city tours to help you to really see these destinations at their best, beginning and ending in New York.

Day 1

New York

You’ll arrive into New York where you’ll be met by your Tour Director at the hotel, before enjoying dinner and your overnight stay.

Overnight: Wyndham New Yoker Hotel

Day 2

New York - Lancaster - Philadelphia - Washington (300 miles)

Today you will leave for Philadelphia to visit the Hall of Independence. This is where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States were both signed, dating back from 1732. You’ll also see the Liberty Bell which still serves as one of the most prominent symbols for the country today. You’ll then depart for the Amish country – you’ll arrive into Lancaster for a guided visit of an Amish farm and farmhouse, helping you to understand the habits, lifestyle and history of this community. Continue on to Washington for your overnight stay.

Day 3

Washington - Williamsport (288 miles)

This morning sees you take a tour of Washington DC to some of the best-known public buildings in the United States – the White House, the Supreme Court and the Capitol, seat of the U.S. Congress and then the Mall where numerous towering monuments are housed. In the afternoon, drive across the state of Pennsylvania arriving for your overnight stay at Williamsport

Day 4

Williamsport - Niagara Falls (188 miles)

Drive through the Finger Lakes area, which is home to nearly 100 wineries, all centred around the three main finger lakes – Keuka, Seneca and Cayuga. You will then continue on to Niagara Falls where you can enjoy a tour of this majestic area. This mighty experience is one of the seven marvels of the world, and arguably the most captivating of them all. There will be an unforgettable boat trip aboard the Maid of the Mist, and then you’ll have free time to discover the falls for yourself, including the attractions such as Journey behind the Falls or the Spanish Funicular.

Day 5

Niagara Falls - Niagara on the Lake - Toronto (97 miles)

Begin today with a stop at Niagara on the Lake, which is a charming 17th century village, then as part of the optional package you can take a tour and tasting session at a local winery. Continue on to Toronto along Lake Ontario, then in the afternoon enjoy a tour of Toronto where you’ll have the chance to see St. Michael’s Cathedral, City Hall, the financial district and the CN Tower (visit optional). If time permits, you’ll be able to spend time in the Distillery Historic District. Overnight Toronto Area

Day 6

Toronto - Montreal (341 miles)

There will be an early departure today along Lake Ontario to the Thousand Islands, including a cruise to take a closer look at this beautiful collection of islands sprinkled throughout the middle of Saint Lawrence. Continue on to Montreal for a guided tour of the second largest French city in the world. This is a city of contrasts, making it a fascinating destination to explore. You will take a tour of Montreal to discover the highlights of the centre before going to Mont Royal for a view of the city, overlooking the Saint Joseph Oratory, Notre Dame Basilica and the 1976 Olympic Park built for the summer games held here. Your overnight stay will take place in Montreal.

Day 7

Montreal - Portland, ME (288 miles)

Depart for Jackson and the White Mountains this morning, where you’ll travel along the White Mountains Trail National Scenic Bayway, renowned for its natural splendour, cultural richness and historical charm. The trail is a loop tour which winds through the 800,000-acre White Mountain National Forest – along the way, expect to see the picturesque towns, historic sites and beautiful scenery. From here, drive to Cape Elizabeth. As part of the optional package, visit Portland Head Lighthouse – this visit is only possible if your arrival is at 3pm; traffic and weather dependent. Refund if not possible).  Continue onwards to Portland for your overnight stay.

Day 8

Portland - Boston (124 miles)

This morning, leave Portland and drive through the stunning landscape which is dominated by lighthouses and coastal scenery. You’ll experience the beautiful mansions, antique charm and Kennebunk’s Dock Square, before continuing on to Salem which is famous for the witch trials of 1692. As part of the optional package, you can visit the witch museum which shows the history of the witch persecutions. Overnight

Day 9

Boston

Enjoy a morning guided tour of Boston, the most famous city of New England, which offers up a typical British charm and interesting colonial sites. You’ll also visit the historic part of Boston with its oldest park – Boston Common. There will be a walking tour along the Freedom Trails, which will enable you to discover 16 historic sites of Boston. The most significant of these include the Beacon Hill, the Massachusetts State House and the King’s Chapel and burying ground. The afternoon is yours to spend at your leisure; as part of the optional package you can visit the famous Harvard University.

Day 10

Boston - Plymouth - Cape Cod - Providence (150 miles)

In the morning, drive to Plymouth – as part of the optional package, you’ll visit the historic Mayflower II and learn about the 1620 voyage, the perils of maritime and the tools of navigation in the 17th century. Continue along the Atlantic Coast towards Cape Code, stopping at Hyannis Port which is a charming location. You’ll have some time to explore this area before continuing to Providence for your overnight stay.

Day 11

Providence - New York (181 miles)

In the morning, drive to New York for an orientation tour of Brooklyn and a glimpse into its historic 19th century brownstones, Prospect Park and Park Slope. Then embark on a guided tour of Manhattan to discover Times Square, 5th avenue, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, the Flatiron building and Grand Central Station, before continuing to Wall Street and the financial district. Next you will see Greenwich Village, SoHo, Chinatown and end the day with an overnight stay in the Big Apple.

Day 12

New York

Today is yours to spend at your leisure discovering the highlights of one of the world’s most spectacular cities. There will be time for shopping, museum visits, or a trip to the Statue of Liberty of Empire State Building.

The morning is yours to spend at leisure to do some last minute shopping, or sightseeing, before embarking on your departure back home.
