Day 3

Bar Harbor, Maine

Grand and relaxed, Bar Harbor has long been a popular choice amongst artists due to the stunning scenery here. Now, it has transformed itself into a luxurious destination filled with landscaped gardens and large mansions that exude sophistication. Lounge on the village green, wander the town or climb Cadillac Mountain.

Day 4

Halifax, Nova Scotia

The economic and cultural capital of eastern Canada, Halifax is still small enough that it can be personal and easy-going. Head to the landmarks that really make this place - Citadel fortress, Pier 21 (Canada's Ellis Island), and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.

Day 5

Sydney, Canada

Rigged and picturesque, Sydney is home to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Bras D’Or Lake and miles of unspoiled coastline just waiting to be explored. The further inland you go, the more history you’ll seek out – the Fortress of Louisbourg, for example, is well worth a visit.

Day 6

Charlottetown, Prince Edward

Explore the Victorian architecture in Charlottetown, along with the cobblestones of Victoria Row, the house that inspired ‘Anne of Green Gables’, and the rugged shores of Prince Edward Island National Park.

Day 7

Cruising Gulf of Saint Lawrence

Home to countless species of birdlife in the spring and autumn seasons, as well as whales, porpoises and seals, the Gulf of Saint Lawrence is an awe-inspiring estuary – the largest in the world. It fringes around half of the provinces of Canada, and serves as the gateway for the interior of all of North America.

Day 8

Quebec City

Utterly unique and completely captivating, Quebec City is unlike anywhere else in North America. It has a friendly population to complement the rich culture and unique history that it is home to.

Day 9

Saint Lawrence River Cruising

Once a water highway for explorers, missionaries and traders, you can now experience the spectacular Saint Lawrence River from the comfort of your Holland America Line ship. The Saint Lawrence River encompasses several lakes and three archipelagos. As the river conducts you from Quebec City to the Atlantic Ocean, watch from your private veranda for blue, fin or beluga whales, porpoises and dolphins, and countless bird species.
