Day 1

Atlanta

Fly to Atlanta and pick up your hire car. Atlanta is both a historical and cultural destination, with plenty to of attractions to explore. Visit the CNN Centre, where you can see newscasts being prepared and broadcast, or head to Stone Mountain Park. Another popular attraction is the Coca Cola Museum!

Day 2

Atlanta – Chattanooga (116 miles)

Head to Chattanooga today, where the most well-known landmark is the renowned Choo Choo train. Visit the Rock City Gardens which feature a city of bizarrely shaped but naturally formed sand stone rock formations, or enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

Chattanooga – Nashville (129 miles)

Memphis – Natchez (310 miles)

Travel along part of the Natchez Trace Parkway today which is a road with an ancient history, having once been traversed by traders and Indians. This area is also famous for the pre-Civil War mansions which were built by wealthy cotton planters. Visit some of these homes, take in a nostalgic tour of the area by horse-drawn carriage or experience Natchez Under-the-Hill which has many restaurants, lounges and colourful shops.

Natchez – New Orleans (174 miles)

Follow the scenic Highway 61 to New Orleans, journeying through the heart of Cajun Country. You’ll learn all about Cajun culture at the Acadian Village, which is a restored bayou town which illustrates the lifestyle of the Acadians in the early 19th century. Afterwards, drive along the Mississippi River to reach New Orleans, visiting some of the River Road Plantations along the way. Upon arrival into New Orleans, explore the French Quarter, the antique shops and boutiques, and soak up the great atmosphere in the evening at the restaurants and nightclubs.

New Orleans – Pensacola (200 miles)
