Dollar/Thrifty Car Rental Information & Terms and Conditions

Driver Requirements - All drivers must be 25 years or older. All drivers must be in possession of a valid UK or EC driver's license and preferably a major credit card in their own name. An international driving permit is not acceptable. A cash deposit of $100 per week/$25 per day is payable by drivers without a credit card to cover the rental charges.

• Personal Protection Plan ("PPP"): PPP includes Personal Accident Insurance ("PAI") and Personal Effects Insurance (PEI) and where offered must be purchased together. Price available locally

PAI - Personal Accident Insurance

PAI: provides benefits to the renter and the renters passengers for accidental medical expenses, ambulance expenses and accidental death benefits during the rental. If this optional coverage is purchased by a renter, the renter is covered twenty-four hours a day for all accidents, whether the renter is actually in the rental vehicle or not at the time of the accident. Passengers in a DOLLAR vehicle are only covered for accidents occurring while the passengers occupy the DOLLAR vehicle. Price available locally

PEI/PEC - Personal Effects Insurance

PEI: insures the personal effects of the renter and any member of the renter's immediate family traveling with the renter. A member of a renter's immediate family must permanently reside in the renter's household. If this optional coverage is purchased by the renter, PEI covers only personal effects with which the renter or immediate family member are traveling. The maximum Personal Effects amount per covered person is $650.

The maximum total benefits that shall be payable in the aggregate for all covered individuals is $1,950. PEI pays covered claims even if the renter's homeowner's policy provides coverage. insures the personal effects of the renter and any member of the renter's immediate family traveling with the renter. If this optional coverage is purchased by the renter, PEI covers only personal effects with which the renter or immediate family member are traveling. Toll - Highway Fees - Travel Stickers

Electronic toll by-pass option: In a few cities, we offer an option to purchase an electronic toll bypass service for a per/day charge that allows the driver to bypass all toll booths and avoid electronic toll charges on all the toll roads in the city or state, as applicable; and, as many times a day as necessary. If you decline to purchase the toll bypass option, you will pay us for all unpaid toll roads violations (including violations captured by camera) charged by the toll authority plus a $25.00 administrative fee per violation. If you have a personal transponder or account, it may not transfer to the rental vehicle and you will be charged a toll violation. Please be advised that some toll roads are managed electronically and have no manned booths. GPS units rented from us can be programmed to avoid toll roads. Price available locally

Breakdown - Tow Service

Road Safe is an optional service offered at some locations at a cost of $6.99 per day plus taxes and fees. This service provides accidental towing, lock-out, flat tire, and fuel and battery service.

Infant/Child Seats

Age and weight of child are required when booking. Infant Seats are available for children weighing between 5lb and 40lb. Parents/Guardians will be asked to install the seat into the vehicle. All children 5 years of age or younger must be properly restrained in Florida, no matter where they are sitting in the vehicle. A child of aged 3 years or younger must be in a child seat. The daily charge is $12.00 per day, with a maximum of $72.00 per rental plus taxes and fees. Please be advised that we cannot guarantee child seats. We provide ONE type of child seat which can be adapted, depending upon the weight of the child and will accommodate 5lb - 40lb.

The Florida Department of Transportation advises parents to use a booster seat to correctly position the lap and shoulder belts for children once they outgrow forward facing child safety seats at about 40 pounds (approximately 18 kilograms) and around 4 years old. Children from approximately 40-80 pounds (approximately 18-36 kilograms) and 4'9" (1.45 meters) should ride in a belt positioning booster seat. Infants must ride rear facing in Florida until they are at least one year old and weigh 20 pounds (approximately 9 kilograms) or more. Booster seats are available at some locations and we have only a few rear-facing infant seats for children below 20 pounds (approximately 9 kilograms) so we suggest taking your own or buying one when in Florida.

Customers are also permitted to use their own car seats in Dollar vehicles.

Ski Rack

Available on request at some locations. Payable locally between $5 - $10 per day plus local taxes and fees. No Ski Racks at LAS. (see attached sheet for locations and exact charges)

Snow Chains

Available at some locations. Payable locally at $35 per rental plus local taxes and fees. No Snow chains can be picked up from LAS or SFD. (see attached sheet for locations)

Deposit

The credit-card holder must be the main driver. Please note that Dollar Rent A Car may require a security deposit at the time of pick up. This takes the form of an amount blocked on the primary drivers' credit card. Cash deposits may not be accepted, so please be sure to check at time of reservation if this facility is required. Deposits will be returned in full at the end of the rental, provided the vehicle is returned in the same condition as rented.

Optional Items such as - child seats, satellite navigation, additional drivers and one-way drop-off charges etc... are payable upon arrival and are subject to local taxes and fees.

Fuel

The vehicle will be rented with a full tank of fuel and a charge will be made based on the average fuel service pump price for mid-grade fuel. You should return the vehicle empty as there is no refund for un-used fuel. No fuel charge is applicable with the Platinum Package.

Licence Requirements

Rates are not valid for US or Canadian citizens or holders of a US or Canadian Licence. Please ensure that you have available ID and a valid and full national driver's licence held for a minimum of 1 year (in case of a UK photo-card licence the card and paper counterpart) and that you are at least 21 years of age. If your driving licence is written in "non-Roman alphabet", you will need an International Driving Permit together with your national driving licence.

Age Restrictions

Minimum driver age is 21. Drivers age 21 to 24 must pay an additional fee. Additional drivers are added and charged for locally. They also pay locally, unless they have purchased the Platinum Package.

Additional Drivers

Can be added at the location at a charge from $10 per day plus taxes and fees. No charge for additional drivers for rentals originating in California. Additional drivers must be added locally. In order to be an additional driver, they must be present with the lead/main driver at time of collection, Dollar will not accept a copy of licence (must be original).

Underage Drivers

Can be added at the location desk and at a charge from $25 - $42.99 per day plus tax (please see list on next sheet for current amount dependant on location, however local charges can change with prior notification).

Satellite Navigation

Many DOLLAR locations offer a GPS unit for use during the rental for an additional daily charge. The small, dashboard-mounted device is programmed for multiple languages and contains mapping details of the entire U.S. with nearly six million points of interest, including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs and tourist attractions. The GPS unit can be programmed to avoid toll roads. Currently units are mobile and are separate equipment from vehicle, as they are independent of the car they can be used in any vehicle. Cost is $11.99 USD per day. Available at most major airport locations in USA.

One Way Rentals

There is no charge for one way rentals between participating locations originating and terminating in the state of Florida and NO charge for one way rentals originating and terminating in the state of California. NO charge for one way rentals between the states of California, Nevada and Arizona. However charges apply for all other one way rentals, dependant upon one way mileage, payable locally and subject to fees and taxes. Please check with reservations.

Cross Border

In most cases, vehicles can be driven in any state in the continental United States. Dollar Rent A Car vehicles are not permitted to be taken on ferries or to island locations without prior authorization from Dollar Rent A Car. Travel is also not permitted via rail.

Travel to Mexico is permitted with prior authorization, from San Diego only, additional insurance must be purchased locally. Vehicles may be driven into Canada (some geographic restrictions may apply) from the following Tour Participating locations only: New York Area Locations (JFK, EWR, LGA and Manhattan locations), ORD, MDW, DTW, PHL, IAD, DCA, LAX, SFO, SEA, PDX, BOS. Travel to Canada must be requested via reservations, once confirmed noted on voucher.

Roadside Travel Emergencies Not Included in your Prepaid Car Rental Package:

This optional additional coverage is only available for purchase at the time of rental and not as a pre-purchase from the UK or Ireland LOCK-OUT SERVICE: Whether the key is lost, broken, or locked inside, the car rental company will dispatch an expert immediately to help you gain entry and get back on your way. Lock-Out service is not included with the Loss Damage Waiver product included in most car rental packages.

FLAT TIRE SERVICE:

While the damage to tires will be covered if you have included Loss Damage Waiver in your car rental package, with this service the car rental company will send someone quickly to install your inflated spare tire.

FUEL SERVICE:

Out of gas? You're not out of luck with the Roadside Assistance. Two gallons of fuel to you will be delivered wherever you are, day or night and enable you to get to the nearest gas station and fill up and get back on the road.

BATTERY SERVICE:

If you left the headlights on, and your car won't start, dial the toll-free number. The car rental company will send someone over to get your vehicle started quickly. The cost, coverage, provider, availability and terms of ROADSAFE may vary from location to location. Please inquire at the counter for additional information. By signing at the beginning of the rental that you accept the ROADSAFE option, you will be charged an additional daily charge, as specified on the rental agreement, for each full and/or partial day you rent the car. Additional daily charge is subject to related taxes and fees. This optional coverage is available for purchase only at the time of rental
