Tour Information

See the best of the States in one tour, crossing from the east coast to the west. Start in New York and then head to Philadelphia, Washington DC and Gettysburg before dipping across the Canadian border to view the fantastic Niagara Falls. Back in the States you’ll see motor-city Detroit and Chicago before striking out west with a visit to Badlands National Park and Mount Rushmore. Explore the legends of the Old West at Deadwood and Cody then discover the geothermal wonders of Yellowstone National Park, including, of course, world-famous Old Faithful.

Head onwards through Grand Teton National Park to Salt Lake City, then marvel at the incredible rock formations at Bryce Canyon National Park and Lake Powell before arriving at the Grand Canyon. After time to see this natural wonder you will head down part of Route 66 to arrive in glittering Las Vegas to stay at one of the huge luxury hotel’s on the city’s famous Strip. After the bright lights of the city drive across the Joshua-tree studded Mojave Desert to arrive in Los Angeles to end your grand tour.

Day 1

UK – New York
Your holiday begins with a transatlantic flight from your chosen airport with a daytime flight to New York.

Day 2

Visit the shops on Fifth Avenue or visit the top of the Empire State Building. Finish the day with a great meal either in Chinatown or Little Italy, both with an abundance of restaurant choices available.

Day 3

New York–Philadelphia–Washington, D.C.
Our tour commences this morning with an early departure from the New York hotel, visit Philadelphia and see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Then continue to Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital.

Day 4

Washington, D.C.
A city tour includes such highlights as the U.S. Capitol Building, Supreme Court, and Arlington National Cemetery, site of the John F. Kennedy Memorial, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. The afternoon and evening are at leisure.

Day 5

Washington, D.C. – Gettysburg –Niagara Falls, Canada
Today, see Gettysburg National Military Park, site of one of the most decisive battles during the American Civil War. We then travel through central Pennsylvania and upstate New York to Buffalo on our way to the “smoke that thunders” Niagara Falls.

Day 6

Niagara Falls–Detroit
Spend the morning sightseeing at Niagara Falls. Stroll along Table Rock and view the thundering waters of Horseshoe Falls. In the afternoon, travel to Detroit, America’s automobile manufacturing center. Evening at leisure.

Day 7

Detroit–Chicago
Travel along Lake Michigan to Chicago. Upon arrival, enjoy a short tour of the city’s highlights including Lake Shore Drive, the Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier.

Day 8

Chicago
The Windy’s city stunning high rise architecture and one of the world’s tallest buildings, the Sears Tower, provide a dramatic backdrop for this great cultural and financial centre. Free time today to explore this great city.

Day 9

Chicago–Sioux City
Travel through Midwest farm country abundant in corn fields, wheat fields and dairy farms. Then we cross the mighty Mississippi River and travel into the state of Iowa to arrive like Lewis & Clark did 200 years ago on the banks of the Missouri River when we overnight in Sioux City.

Day 10

Sioux City–Badlands National Park–Mt. Rushmore National Memorial-Deadwood/Rapid City
Travel westward through the grasslands of South Dakota and onwards to Badlands National Park, once home to the buffalo and antelope and filled with strange shaped and colorful rock formations. Then we continue on to the Black Hills, sacred to the Plains Indians and home to Mount Rushmore - an enormous monument to four of the great founders of America - Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt. Spend an evening at leisure.

Day 11

Deadwood/Rapid City–Bighorn Mountains-Cody*
Enter the state of Wyoming, which has twelve mountain ranges intermixed with deserts and rolling grasslands, and continue to Cody for the night.
* If overnight in Cody is not possible due to weather or adverse road conditions in Yellowstone, overnight will be in Billings/Livingston, Montana.

Day 12

Cody–Yellowstone National Park
Drive past the mountains in Wyoming to Yellowstone—America’s first National Park—and enjoy a sightseeing tour of this geothermal wonderland, including geysers, waterfalls, wildlife and canyons. Highlights will include Yellowstone Lake, Old Faithful, Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone’s Canyon’s majestic falls and the beautiful Hayden Valley.

Day 13

Yellowstone National Park–Grand Teton National Park-Salt Lake City
Travel through Grand Teton National Park (weather permitting) and see awesome mountain peaks towering over 13,000 ft. (4,000 meters). Later, arrive in Salt Lake City and take a short city tour.

Day 14

Salt Lake City–Bryce Canyon National Park
Continue today to Bryce Canyon, where a tour through a world of amazing sandstone spires awaits you. Enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 15

Bryce Canyon National Park–Lake Powell-Grand Canyon National Park-Flagstaff
Early morning at leisure to explore Bryce Canyon. Then, pass by Lake Powell. Travel across the Colorado River and through the Navajo Indian Reservation, the Painted Desert, and the Cameron Trading Post to Grand Canyon National Park.

Day 16

Flagstaff–Seligman/Route 66-Las Vegas
This morning, depart the Grand Canyon and continue on to Las Vegas, along the way, pass through Seligman, a town built along the fames Route 66 that looks as if it were frozen in time sixty years ago. The remainder of the day is spent at leisure to explore the dazzling "Entertainment Capital of the World."

Day 17

Travel to Los Angeles via the Mojave Desert, where strands of unique Joshua trees dot the mountainous landscape. Upon arrival in Los Angeles you will enjoy a tour through the City of Angels including Hollywood, Sunset Strip and parts of Beverly Hills, before reaching your hotel.

Day 18

Independent transfers today to LAX airport for your return flight to the UK.

Day 19

Arrive back in the UK at your chosen airport.
