Ruby Falls Gains Green Award

Ruby Falls, America’s deepest commercial cave and largest underground waterfall open to the public, is the first U.S. attraction to gain Green Globe/Green Certification. Featuring a 145-foot waterfall located 1,120 feet beneath the surface of Lookout Mountain, near Chattanooga, Ruby Falls has been named as a "Top 7 United States Natural Wonder” along with Yosemite, Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon and Sequoia National Forest.
It gained the Green awards by focusing on renewable energy, reductions in emissions, lowering waste and continuing land conservation. The dual certification identifies compliance with internationally accepted ecological management and sustainability standards to tourism properties and businesses.
